The aero mods are three OEM bolt-on parts which Audi developed for the ultra-efficient 1.2TDi (which Audi never sold in the UK). They include; 2x winglets for the front wheel arches, 1 spoiler which fits to the rear of the front suspension sub-frame, and an aluminium cover panel which creates a flat floor over the exhaust tunnel underneath the car. Together they will reduce the aero drag of the car ever-so-slightly.

If you've got a big wallet you could also fit the larger (and more aerodynamically efficient) rear screen spoiler from the 1.2Tdi (also fitted to the 1.6FSi), but that involves replacing the whole screen, or if you're able to find one in a breakers, the entire tailgate!
If you fancy some DIY, there should be some aero gains to be had by crafting a custom-made panel to smooth the rear bottom of the car around the rear bumper (which is currently an open "parachute" and will be a source of drag).

I modified my driving over my previous couple of tanks by only using up to about 2200rpm when accelerating, and keep the speed on motorways at or below 65mph (actually more like 55mph for most journies, but last night I got so bored and was late so ended up spending a bit of mpg and getting home faster so that won't have helped). I also was much more concerted with switching the engine off in stationary traffic. I also concentrated a lot more on reading the traffic ahead and getting off throttle early when I thought I might need to slow down to get into fuel cut-off mode more frequently.
I may also have tried a little bit of drafting behind a lorry on the motorway but lost my bottle after about 2miles
So basically, I just slowed down a bit.
