Hello

I once had a 1970 Vw Beetle Karmann Cabriolet in Colbalt blue Jeff with cream interior and it looked brilliant. I don,t know about how many are left or production numbers but there were 493 blue Fsi SE,s registered in the Uk and only 98 standard Fsi,s registered.

Hi Jeff, and thanks for the welcome :)

I have a question.

What is going on when the windows are down! The wind seems to be oscillating between the rubber gasket which makes a racket while ruining my ear drums!

This is a common problem Indy which is why all A2 owners who have climate control can still hear properly.

The solution to this is to just open the rear window an inch or two when, you have the front windows down.

That seems to work.

Cheers for that Dave, I've learnt something new! You are a hive of information!
Cheers jeff

I think the word 'common' does not really apply to an A2. Yes there might be more common colours, but It certainly isn't common a common car whichever way you look at it. Having said that, I was recently in Milton Keynes and there were like 30 of them all parked in the same car park. Weird!

Chris

Common or not I love my Cobalt blue!!
My 2nd A2 and my second Cobalt Blue! Haha
Hard to upkeep but well worth the effort when it's polished!!

Anybody know how many left on the road in cobalt Blue

Unfortunately this isn't an exact science. Alan_A2 has spent a lot of hours researching A2 production numbers that has confirmed that for the UK at least - specific data for tone of colours is not available. It's to do with the quality of the information supplied to DVLA.

Rejoice in the fact that cobalt is not common. ( subjective statement). Just how rare it is you may never know. You may be able to find out from Audi how many of your paint code rolled off the factory floor.

But hopefully take solace that in 8 years of A2 fancying - your car is the second cobalt one I have seen.

Had no idea you were a VW classic fan. Had a few in my time including a Cal look Beetle that was pictured for Volksworld Magazine.

I would like to own a T2 bay window campervan but the costs invovled in running them are a lot more than our trusty A2,s.

Hello and welcome to the club. Post pics of your A2 in the member's cars area if you so feel the need. Always nice to see new cars.

Chris

I took some photo's of the car this morning, finally! I've just put them up in the member's area.
