Right Guys I have started this thread because I'm sure that there is others here that have some interest in modding their A2's.

SO, what ever you have done to your A2 to modify it, please, lets have it here so we can all see it.

Any idea's or plans of doing any pimping to your A2?

Anyone actually done any mods?

Cheers

Oh dear, where do I start and have you got a while!!!???

You really need to take a look at Tank to see what's left untouched!

Cheers,

Mike

I need to get some decent new pics of my A2, so will do that next time I get a chance to clean both cars on the same weekend!

I went the car PC route in my Cordoba, I would add a word of caution: The thoughts of endless possibilities can turn into to many frustrations in day to day use. Mine had WiFi, satnav, mp3, dvd, GPRS (it was a few years ago!) and VAG-Com..

i have very, very few build pics. mainly because the wiring and such is not the standard I'd like to show.

The car is in pieces again right now, i need to do some FG tonight, I might try to do some pics.

Bret pics would be great! :)

Who else has done some mods and got pics? Come on lads have a peek :p

What mods are you planning to do Sarge? The rebuild of Shoby was an amazing feat in itself, so you clearly have the technical skills!
Im a gadget fan - hence my search for an A2 with spec. - but the boring old fart in me doesnt go for bigger than big wheels and mods that bend an original design to the extreme! But each to their own.;) I really admire the work and dedication that entusiasts put into blinged up motors!!:D

Hi mate, Thanks, I am looking at options, I want to start with the installation of a PC, which will be loaded. I too am a gadget fan! often called 'Professor Gadget' or 'Inspector Gadget' ...oops! giving too much information away ...LOL

If you have a look at the link I put in 1st post (as below) you will get the idea as I started the same thing with my other car some time ago and it is very successful. This is the sort of thing I wanted to see on the A2's :D

... well.... the LEDs are all either run from the interior lights or the running lights; the carPC is in work (has been for a loooong time), the sound deadening is real work in progress. I need to get some bits sorted next week - my wife and daughter will be away for a few days so I will have peace to do lots of stuff, but I need to have what I need here :)

my car, from the outside at least:

list of ongoing projects:

- carPC
- Audio System:
- Source: carPC
- amps DLS + Signat FTM
- Speakers: Seas. Self built pods. I'm in the process of glassing these properly on the inside, as I want 7l sealed for the Er18RNXs.
- Sub will be integrated into the area next to the battery shortly
- rebuild of the boot. Oiled Oak and Aluminum floor, sub integrated. Amps integrated + lit.
- A-Pillars, Headlining, Dash to be re-covered
- "grab handle" for the passenger to be replaced with something of real wood to match my gearknob, which is a 52mm dia chunk of birch (attached is a pic)
- new gaiter to match the new door leather
- re-do the rear part of the door pockets in Carbon, matt
- re-lacquer my Aluminium strips (the area below the topmost section of the door has aluminium in my car :D - but the lacquer isn't too hard, and it's chipping. I need a better alternative.
- reading lights for the rear, properly done
- footwell lights need rewiring, the fuseboxes are here
- sound deaden the whole car. Outside EPDM behind the wheelarch liners, same inside. The doors already have Butyl, the door inner skins have noxudol and don't resonate, the front door cards are also pretty dead now. Needs also EPDM.
- the Audi rings lit - well, I have a template that's soldered but need a grill to play with
- Xenon is in work, but that's not important right now and won't be until october.

With a bit of luck and some more parts, I should have the audio system running properly in a couple of weeks. Then, when I get some time after my holiday, the leathering is set to start; I have leather for the door cards, the centre console and maybe a couple of other bits.

I have enough wood to do the grab handle, I will talk to a colleague and give him something to think about :)

questions? where possible, the LEDs are either 5mm 180deg or lumi star 1W with a 27ohm resistor.

Tinted lights and twin centre exhuasts:eek:

Its a bit 10 years ago don't you think?

The contrast "S" door mirrors and tailgate spoiler are ok, go well with the alloy bumper strip all a bit ott but ok.

I Like the enhanced grille at the front with the chrome slats. Lots of A2's have it but i still haven't found a subtle/suitable product for it yet, any ideas?
