Conn Link

Mr Angry

A2OC Donor
hi there

ive just checked invoices regarding a fault im having with windows/doors/fuel cap/mirrors. i thought it was the ccu but it wasnt however, the invoice shows from the audi garage that the part which was replaced was a connection link which was apparently disconnected and reconnected. the part number is A6Q0 411 315 G (conn link).

can some1 tell me where this is located as this might stop me from dismantling the door etc...

thanks again mr mangry grrrrrrrrrrr!

The part you list is completely unconnected with the door or electrical system - it is a drop link, which goes between the anti-roll bar and the damper.

For info, this part has now been dropped and is replaced with the 'N' suffix part (£23).

Cheers,

Mike

Think it may be better to take photos of your invoices as the scanner didn't do a good job

Cheers Phil

Thanks Ben and Mike can view it now

Hi,

It looks like the replacement drop-link was just something else that was replaced on that service.

The loose connection wire mentioned looks to be just a reconnection exercise rather than a replacement part.

Perhaps Stirling Audi have more comprehensive details on their system?

Ben

PS - those scan look just fine here

I agree with Ben - if you select to open the attachment in a new window/tab, it's fine.

The bearing replaced is a strut top bearing and the conn link is a drop link (usually replaced in pairs, as are the bearings).

I think that your troubles lay with a faulty CAN bus wiring system, which is operating in 1 wire mode, but only intermittantly.

Cheers,

Mike

ok im still new to all this tech talk, where do i start if its this can bus thing, do i still need to strip down door or take off inside panels etc...

im confused:confused:

kind regards me

I'd start by looking at the CAN wires going to the ccu and coming from the back of the clocks. There are just too many things going wrong for it to by a single door connection.

You'll need a decent workshop manual and wiring diagram to fathom it out though.

A parts drawing will not help you find and fix an electrical fault, only demonstrate where things should plug in. Similarly, ElsaWin will only advise of steps to take - what you'll need is diagnostics equipment and a multimeter.

Once you have verified that all is plugged as it should be, your next step is to see that the CAN wiring is all ok, as I suspect this is the root cause of your troubles.

Cheers

Mike
