1.2 TDI cruise control retrofit

Hello guys,

I found a lot of information about 1.6 and 1.4 engines, but nothing about 1.2TDI engines. I know in all cases the pins are different (I mean where you need to connect them). Can somebody share with me the pins in case of the 1.2 engine on the ECU and stalk side? thanks :).

Is there any difference between manual, and automatic?

There aren't many 1.2TDI's on here, this being primarily a UK site where the 1.2 wasn't originally imported by Audi. The one guy who I know would know, is currently offline climbing Alps in France & Italy - that's @timmus. You could PM him, however there will very probably be quite a delay in response - as well as not being around at the moment, he's constantly in demand so his Inbox is very full!

Thanks guys for the info. Looks like it was never an option in the 3L version. Also looks like it's hard to make it work properly. : S

My (admittedly limited) understanding of why it is relatively easy to make it work with the 1.4 and 1.6 is that they were offered in cars with cruise control as an option, whilst the 1.2 never was.

Cruise control on 1.2 is nice to have, but it does require more than just wiring a stalk to ecu, since ecu needs to be reprogrammed for it to work.

It does have minor problem of trying to instantly switch to the last gear possible (at least in my case) and therefore not having almost any acceleration in cases of ca 1000 rpm + 5-th gear.... But after some getting used to it, i just accelerate manually near the desired/resume speed before activating/resuming. Like it's kinda ok to use resume to 90km/h from 70km/h zone, but very annoying to do it from 50-60km/h zone.
