2 DIN SOCKETS ???????

May I install 2 DIN items in my A2 dashboard (1.4 TDI)??
(Blaupunkt Sydney RCM126 radio + Blaupunkt CD Changer IDC A 09)

I mean: is the hole under the climate system a DIN one??

You may find the DIN unit won't fit as the lower corners of the space under the climate system are rounded.

To fit 2 DIN units its suggested you replace the climate unit for one that is designed to fit this lower space (unit has rounded corners).

I tryed to get the local dealer to fit the symphony II unit and lower the climate unit but they were set against it??

Yes I am 99% sure that the slot under the climate control can be used as an additional din. The inner tray moulding will have to be removed and you'd have to buy a din mounting kit - Blaupunkt actually do sell one on these on their own for about £14.00 (~€21.00).

Not sure what it looks like at the back but you may need to drill some holes to pass wires from the back of the stereo down to new din slot below.

Have a look at the European Owners Gallery Page 22 at the A2OC to see an example of this.

My original plan was to fit a Blaupunkt TravelPilot sat nav system where the stereo is and also fit a 5 disc din sized changer in the slot below the climate control.

Personally I think it is possible and I am sure that a professional hifi installer will be able to do a good fitting.
