A little help

Hello everybody. I have a 52 plate 1.6 fsi sport. Bought brand new. Went through the coil pack saga three times. Anyway that was finally sorted out (2003). Since then I have never really thought the performance was as it should be. It has been OK up to running temp but after that it tends to get sluggish in gears 3, 4 and 5. Have seen dealer who advised that "its the nature of the engine". OK, so have lived with it until now. I have just been on 200 mile motorway journey. Once off the motorway did 100 miles of very sluggish engine actions that seemed more pronounced than usual. Is it going to die? Would getting it chipped, tuned etc get this particular problem sorted out????? Help please.

Hmmm no idea really other than seeing if there is a member here near to you that could test your car using the vagcom software and cable to test for any faults that have been logged by the ecu?

Have you changed the air filter recently? is it dirty? i doubt it is that but just an idea.

Maybe a local rolling road test as most will do a vagcom to make sure the engine is in perfect order before it goes on the rollers?
