A2 1.4TDI (90) Belts

Hi all

Our A2 (2004) is coming upto 60k miles soon. I was wondering what the recomended interval was for having the belts changed? Which would need doing and what other bits should be done alongside?

The service schedule booklet which came with my 2001 TDi specifies a Timing belt and tensioner roller change at 60,000 miles. I understand this has been extended to 80,000 miles on later models. I personally would also change the water pump and alternator belt at the same time.
Audi seem to regularly change their ideas on a 'safe' service life for timing belts so I suggest you talk to your Dealer for the latest info. - As an example, I recently read that VW had reduced the belt change interval on the 1.4 litre - 16valve (petrol) engines from 60K to 40K miles.
