A2 Velour Sport seat bolster repair/reupholster

Hi all,

Going to look at an A2 in the next few days. I love the seats it has in it but the drivers seat squab has collapsed on the bolster and the seat back has worn through to the foam on the bolster. Are there any recommendations of folk that can look at this for me, replace/repair the material and an approx price?

I can probably change the foam on the squab from a passenger seat of the same type if I need to.

That wear and tear is sadly very common on sport seats, especially when the bolster foam collapses. As far as I know it is impossible to source Audi's original fabric so it is down to the trimmer to source a close match.

Plenty of capable, skilled trimmers around the country. It depends where you are based I guess.

If budget allows, worth checking Audi Tradition, as every now and then they do offer new seat covers (leather and fabric) although prices are not kind.

The cloth you have is Matrix. Delve into Audi Tradition and a few cloth items can be found, for example...



No idea if these are sport, needs more research.

On a general note some cloth rolls are available, a good word to use in AT's search box is 'bezugsstoffe'.

AT can be expensive, I would still stick to your initial plan.

I’ve successfully swapped over the cloth too from a passenger seat. See pic. (Before and after.) if you can get hold of a good passenger seat and post me the 2 seat covers I could help I imagine. Still got a sewing machine and upholstery thread. You just need to be ver accurate cutting out the hole for the airbag.
