We normally have this around the time the clocks change. This year it falls on the Easter weekend, but with the Premier Inn being booked up the following week, this seems the best date

As before, we will meet for a Meal at the Green Man, Brackley Hatch NN13 5TX The table will be booked for 7pm, with the plan to meet by the cars from around 6-630 for a chat if the weather is ok.

For those who would like to stay over, the Premier Inn next door is good, reasonable and has a huge free car park https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/northamptonshire/silverstone/silverstone.html

It is close to the Silverstone Museum if you want to make a weekend of it and immerse yourself in the world of motor racing.

Although we are a smaller group this time due to Easter, it is useful to prebook. The menu is below so please have a look and send me a private message with your choices please. Looking forward to seeing you :)

Sorry won't be attending this one, we don't like Easter weekend travelling, have fun folks

Morning all,

Unfortunately unable to attend this gathering now. Heading South to visit family over the Easter weekend. Enjoy the meal and hopefully catch up with some of you in Stanford.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi final call for our meal next saturday. Also, i have now put the menu in tha main post, so please do have a look and message me with your choices. As we are a smaller group, I dont think there will be an issue if you want to wait.

Also, for anyone who used to come to Duet at Fort Dunlop for our start and end of season meals, I've just discovered that it closed down about 8 months ago. That's such a shame as we had some great nights there 😔

I’d very much like to attend, but I am unfortunately unable to drive at the moment - even the idea of depressing a clutch pedal with my left leg makes me wince - and Jessica is covering emergencies at the vet practice over the weekend so is unable to provide chauffeur services.

It’s a shame to hear that Duet has closed down. For our purposes in particular, it was a highly suitable venue.

I hope those who attend have an enjoyable evening. My virtual regards to you all. Thanks to @Teresa for the impeccable organisation, as ever.

So sorry to hear that you are indisposed at the moment Tom. I hope you aren't in too much pain and are up and about and feeling much better soon!

Thanks T.

I’m pleased to write that I’m not in much pain at all. It’s now been 2 weeks since surgery (where has the time gone!?) and the acute pain has subsided to a gentle achy discomfort.
I am assured by the physiotherapists that my recovery is ahead of the general curve; due to being fit and carrying no excess weight, I was told to expect this. However, I’ve also been repeatedly cautioned against trying to rush the recovery. My world has shrunk from huge spectacular landscapes to the confines of my home, but it should all be worth it once I’m through and out the other side.

Again, I wish I was attending this meal. Seeing your enthusiastic faces and having a general change of scenery would be great, but it’s not to be. I look forward to seeing some photos of the gathering, though.

Enjoy!

Tom

Getting Alan washed ready to take to Silverstone tomorrow and couldn't leave Oscar out.
Alan not looking quite as good as he should as someone (me), got the bottles of ceramic coating and glass cleaner muddled up!
Safe journey tomorrow folks

So sorry we missed you. That is something I would do! Hope to see you at another social this year 😊

Was lovely to see folks last night. Green Man was lovely again and it was nice to see the cars in the light. Fabulous company and great conversation.
Huge thanks to @PlasticMac for checking over Alan's air con. It was too nippy on the way home to fully check, but it's definitely better!
A few pics of the cars 🥰

It was a lovely get-together with good food and the best of company and conversation. I really enjoyed it, sorry to have to leave comparatively early but I was absolutely dropping after a run of late nights and early mornings.

By the way, I found what the problem was with the FSI misting up. I'd driven the entire way from home with the air-con set to OFF! It had been fine until a few miles before the Green Man, but then the outside air temperature dropped as soon as the sun went down. Took a while to fully demist but all is good now :)

Simple solution thankfully 😊

Hello all,

That’s me back home after a weekend away and sorry to miss this social. I was looking forward to seeing everyone. Great pictures and I’ll certainly there for the end of year meal. I’ll be in a Jaipur Red A2 but not sure which one.

Hope you all had a great evening.

Kind regards,

Tom
