About high HC emmissions on 1.4 MPI

Hi everyone! I have problem with my 1.4 AUA engine emmisions. On first measurements there was CO ~0.6 and CH ~200. After that I changed the sparks plugs, ignition wires with coil, new catalytic converter.. After that CO emmisions came down nearly 0, but CH start to go up 350ppm. So basically this CH value is fluctuating..
After that I make the intake manifold unmetered air test - there was no leakeage on it.. Check the fuel injectors for leakeage - no lekeage.. Changed the second lambda..
After all this nothing changed. VCDS measurements followed by ELSA doesnt show any value out of specifications.. So maybe this is due oil which goes into intake..
Also did compression test: values were 14-15 bar..
Hope somebody has some advice..

So hydrocarbons are unburnt fuel, was does the car run in general? I recently had a similar journey that ended in finding a sticky exhaust valve

In general cars runs pretty OK... Starting is ok, no vibrations.. execpt some noise from engine - sounds a little bit like diesel.. but as far as I know this is something specific on theses engines - pistons are attaching cylinder or something...

Compressions were 14-15 bar? What should they be?

Compression test won’t show up a sticking valve… didn’t with mine

We had exactly the same thing with my daughters AUA at 118K miles. In the end we changed the cylinder head and it sorted the issue. One of the exhaust valves was visibly damaged and we think it was the problem. It had also trashed the cat.

The head came from an excellent company, next day delivery and was around £280. I can get you the details if you need? They may ship abroad.
Don't forget though that the gaskets, new head bolts, new cam cover bolts etc do add up and the whole job as a DIY will be around £500 - £600.

The price I quoted was for a complete refurbished head with new valve seals, new valves, but not new rockers.

Forget to add conclusion. I took my car to the service. The service guy told me that it is related to valve phases which goes away with time. As nobody wants to change camshafts and everything related he usually make some changes in engine adaptation to reduce fuel amount. I didnt see what exactly he was doing but after that i was able to pass MOT exhaust tests.. after MOT he bring back this fuel amount. I guess I need to do it every time before MOT test.
