Hi everyone, will a Varta E44 12v77ah780A be suitable for my Tdi90? Thanks in advance

The Varta recommendation for the A2 is the F19. You need to check if the E44 has the same depth (front to back), is no greater on the width or height, has the same terminal layout, and at least at much capacity and cranking force as the F19. If all these considerations pass, you should be fine. Tayna.com will have all the info you need.
The Varta F19 is what most replace the original TDI battery with as it is the same physical dimensions at 315mm L, 175mm W and 190mm H.
The E44 will do the job but is smaller in the length at just 278mm.
Some have used the F18 which is the same length and width as the F19 and the original Varta battery fitted from new but not as tall at 175mm instead of 190.
I always use the F19 which has a slightly higher power rating which makes it ideal if you have extra gizmos fitted such as heated seats etc.
If you aren't in a hurry Tayna (and others) often discount them on eBay
