Bluetooth BING on RNSe

Having recently connected an OEM bluetooth to my RNSe, I have a deafening BING when the phone connects, and then another deafening BING when it disconnects upon the ignition turning off...
I have trawled all the options on RNSe and can't find how to turn the volume down on the connectivity.
It is that loud that the neighbours all spin round in shock when I get into the car.

Anybody know how I can turn this particular BING off or down? it is the only thing that I regret fitting, the bluetooth itself is perfect, but the damned annoying BING is starting to get on my nerves somewhat!!

Please make the instructions idiot proof, as I have tried all avenues to no avail!!

Cheers folks

No RNSe expert, but I think you need to turn the phone media volume down, as the sound is coming from your phone, via Bluetooth. Don't think it can be disabled, but could be wrong on that. Either way, it's the phone, not the RNSe.

Afternoon Andy,

I thought we got to the bottom of this previously.

Try this:
The next time you’re in a call over the A3 BT Tel Module, lower the volume on the steering wheel or headunit. This volume adjustment should be saved within the flash memory which is also part of the connected/disconnected audible tone.

Out of curiosity, what is the full part number of the BT Tel Module.

Kind regards,

Tom

No idea on the part number off the top of my head, I'll have a look through my purchases on fleabay to find out what it was!
I'll give your thought a go, but then I won't be able to hear the caller lol.
Will report back.
For the record, I don't think its my phone creating the bing, as it connects to other vehicles without the BING...
Cheers

Hi Andy,

The part number should be easy to observe when at the vehicle. I guess you placed it within the passengers footwell compartment. The part number will be 8P0862335 or 8P1862335 with a letter at the end. It’s the letter that I’m interested in.

Just been out to the car to solve this issue for you…

The solution to the loud connection chime, which is set at the same volume as the SDS capability, can be lowered by turning the volume of the SDS/Voice prompts down when they’re active. If you have a MFSW then press the talk/speech button and lower the volume whilst the female voice is talking.

If you don’t have a MFSW with the speech. Button then you need to enable the CAR button as the Speech button. This can only be done if you’re running the Custom firmware that I mention on here from time to time. Are you running custom firmware? If so then to enable the CAR button as the speech button is conducted within the engineering pages.

You could also achieve this by setting a destination within Navigation then wait for the voice commands to commence for the journey then lower the volume when the voice commands commence.

Happy to assist over the phone should you need it. You have my number so give me a call when you’re next in the car and you’ll have it sorted in seconds.

Kind regards,

Tom
