Bluetooth Telephone Kit

OK the time has come to look at getting a telephone hands free kit fitted in the 90 for my wife. It has the double DIN CD/Tape unit and I'm loking at options. My last car had the excellent Parrot CK3000 Evo kit fitted to the Concert unit so it integreated well displaying 'PHONE' on the Concert and sound through the speakers etc. From memory the kit last time was c£60 but that was 15yrs ago and kindly fitted by Mike @Skipton01. In short it's a brilliant phone kit with just the small toggle buttons that we put next to the ASR button.

Now these kits seem hard to get hold of and when you find them they're £140!!! (although I've just taken a punt on one ('looks all there') for £15 from eBay!). So I'm thinking is there an alternative option out there? Not interested at all in music streaming, just the phone, and want something that allows me to push a button to answer/end calls ideally not on the phone itself as that is in a flip case so not stuck on the dash etc.

I did wonder whether the RNSD-E or similar being double DIN would be an option as these can be bought for similar money to the Parrot but expect the Bluetooth will be an add on unit and not straightforward?

Any suggestions?

I tried the Amazon special for £20 and although it powers on and I can connect my phone to it, the car will not recognise it, even after coding the stereo with VCDS to accept a CD changer

I’ve managed to bag a new (old stock) Parott CK3000 Evo for £20. So this will be on the job list.

@timmus recently fitted an Audi hands free phone kit in the Tdi . Perfect installation, It works very well doing all sorts of clever things like telling me who is calling on the DIS, independent volume control and I am sure it does other things too, but far to complex for a brown bear with a small brain.

I use Bluemusic+ which has a microphone too. It plugs into the back of the stock Audi Stereos, and uses its buttons to answer calls or control the music. The mic is very clear- I have it fed up the A-pillar into the overhead console where a 'vent' is already provided. Works a treat and is invisible.
