hi

I need to service my 2004 1.4TDi . its done 74,000 miles

I was thinking of doing:

1. oil filter
2. oil change
3. air filter
4. fuel filter
5. cam belt
6. water pump
7. change the coolants
8. brake fluid

is there anything else that you guys think needs doing? maybe gearbox oil change? anything else?

Do you know where I can get the required parts cheapest?

I live in NW london, anyone in area to teach me how to do it myself for know someone who can do a good job?

Hi,

It has been covered many times, all listed jobs are the way to go, depending obviously when the last service has been carried out.
For the parts you can always try Stoke Audi as they do discounted prices for the club members, or your local Audi dealer. I found TPS in Colindale to be the cheapest out of all, they do supply main dealers and suppose to be trade only, but happily selling the parts over the counter at trade prices.

It is easiest if you try to source a copy of ElsaWin workshop manual and ETKA parts catalogue for reference now and next service if you intend to DIY. I'd also suggest an a/c recharge. Excluding cambelt, oil will probably be the most expensive and the good folks at Opieoils should be able to get you good oil at decent prices. Cambelt and waterpump I'd get from dealer. Stoke Audi Parts are as friendly and helpful as you'll find but you may want to call you local audi dealers because there's no shipping to pick up (Watford and West London Audi aren't bad, VW dealers can also get you the parts).

If you're in NW London, I normally go to http://rac-london.co.uk/ for service. I might be heading there for a full service and cambelt change later this year.

I agree with you An2rey TPS are the cheapest I have found and its Genuine Audi Parts and they do just sell over the counter :)

cabin filter
gearbox oil if you're feeling flush
