Coding a Chorus headunit

Hopefully someone in the know will be able to help me out!

The A2 unfortunately only has the chorus headunit so just fitted an ipod kit from Audi. It seems to work ok but the installation states that you should code the headunit to reflect having a CD changer.

I have not been able to source these codes so any help with the stereo codings would be very useful!

Interestingly the fader function has never worked and by just playing about with the original code has now rectified this.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Please expand on the codes you are using.

I have the complete coding tables for all Audi headunits, so let me know the particulars of your car.

Cheers,

Mike

HI Mike,

It is the chorus 2 headunit in a 52 plate A2.

I believe the original coding was 00300 that I changed to 00200 or vice verrsa to rectify the lack of fader control.

NO bose or any extras other than the install of the genuine Ipod-Audi kit.

Are there any useful areas online that list codings for the A2? I seem to find quite a few when I have been working on my A4 no problems but struggle with the A2!

Thanks for any help, I am doing the cruise next so any information would be very much appreciated!

Thanks yet again for a prompt response!

Paul

Your coding should be 00002 or 00102, depending on fader choice.

As for cruise, unless you have the circuit diagrams and workshop manuals for the car and know how to use them, don't attempt it. Installing cruise is a safety critical job and involves working with the airbag and also taking the ECU plug apart.

If you are thinking it is like fitting to a Golf4 or similar, it isn't!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for that spike! It tells me exactly what I need to know thanks!

I will recode it to 00102 as mentioned by Mike!

Mike,

As for cruise I have installed the new control arm and weather permitting will be doing the wiring tomorrow. Fortunately I have sourced the factory wiring diagram detailing where it connects to the ECU.

Rest assured if I get stuck or lost I will be in touch. Fortunately I have done it a few times on other cars in the range successfully so am hoping I will be ok!

Thanks again!

Paul
