Hi have a convenience module from 2005 a2 which is good with two keys looking to change my faulty one on 2002 car. Both are from tdi`s 75 is it a straight swap and are the keys from 2005 module able to be used.

Do both cars have the same windows as in both just front electric? If so plug and play!

Good Evening,

Yes, as long as you use the bottom half of the 2005 keys with the top half of your existing keys. The top half of your existing keys have the correctly cut key blade for the door and ignition and a correctly matched immobiliser chip with the instrument cluster. Normal process of syncing to complete.

Both cars have only front electric windows so if swap the 2005 convenience and put the blades from.tge 2002 car on the 2005 key modules should be good to go.

Morning,

Yes all should be good to go. Like Andrew states above, all that’ll be required is a quick re-sync with the ignition on and holding down the remote fobs lock button for a couple of seconds.

The only things you may loose is the audible lock confirmation of anti-hijack feature if the original CCCU had this and the replacement doesn’t. Easy enough to do with VCDS though when you’re able to do so.

Kind regards,

Tom
