Cruise control

Hello. I bought a kit for cruise control for my A2 from China, I have mounted from the lever on the steering wheel and onto the control unit in the floor according to the explanation of YouTube, but I am left with a black cable that I find no good explanation for, Think there is a cable that will give power to the control on the steering wheel. Are someone here who can give me some help with this. I am aware I have to program the control unit when it is fully connected with VCDS Software.

You should have 4 wires from the stalk to the ecu pins
From memory stalk pins 2,3,4&7,5 go to the pins on the ecu.
Stalk pin 6 is the 12v ignition live that can go to any ignition live typically the brake light switch
The ecu pins vary depending on diesel, 1.4 petrol, 1.6 petrol

Evening,

If the aftermarket kit you’ve purchased is this very item then I can confirm that the black wire with no pin attached is for a terminal 15 (switched/ignition) feed which can be picked up from Pin #2 on the brake pedal switch (test with a multimeter first just incase there is a slight difference in pinout between LHD and RHD):

I had to fitting of these into an A2 a couple of weeks ago. The pins were not correct by any means and the loom length was certainly not for a RHD but you might just about get away in your LHD A2.

Here’s a rather useful link that’ll help out with which wire goes to where at the ECU:
