The Panasonic changers CX-DP 9060 and CX-DP 9061 fit Audi-brand radios with a suitable adaptor cable.
According to our information, the guarantee is voided by using the changer via an adaptor because this is an alteration of the system(probably Panasonic had been involved in complaints). Furthurmore the fitting of the changer causes problems with the electrical system in many cases (for instance the central locking no longer works properly).

Saturn in 586xx Iserlohn (several changers removed and replaced:)
According to Panasonic “Fitting a CD changer to another radio with an adaptor plug which changes the pin layout voids the guarantee."

Funny how fitting a changer affects the lock... And yet it's true, this is one of the disadvantages of having a central wiring bus that connects everything.
It's even possible for a wrongly connected radio to disrupt the engine electronics.
Imagine having your fuel injected at the rhytyhm of Hardcore Sounds Volume III, or Celine Dion for that matter :)

hehe its funny because whenever i have my stereo on the car actually makes a differnt noise a kind of electrical noise when i am reving, when the track stops the noise goes when it starts again the noise is back, is that a problem would it cause probelem with accelerartion, hehe after all this hastle with my audi dealer and now looking at changing the car i would be a bit pissed to find out that its the stupid panasonic stereo w/changer was the cause for the lacking performance of the car, considering i didnt even fit the stereo and it was bought with the stereo fitten.

That should not be possible as there are three independant CAN Buses. The radio, navigation system and voice control are connected by the Display-BUS while the engine, gearbox, ESP and power steering communicate through the Antriebs-BUS ("drive bus"). There is a third bus ("comfort bus") which connects aircon and doors.
While there is a gateway between these buses, a fault on one bus should not affect another bus.

This sounds more logical...

But it was told to me by someone who works for a Volkswagen dealer.
