Drivers door top edge gap

I noticed some noise of rubber flexing when driving, upon inspection of the top of the drivers door, from outside, there's a gap between the door and car.

It's as though someone's wedged the door open at the top to break in like the old days to open an door.

If I press the top frame of the door it closes up nicely like the other side.

Any ideas other than bending it?!

Evening Edd,

Don’t bend the frame Sir as you risk damaging the glass. If you remove the door card, aluminium panel then loosen the top window frame bolts, think they’re T45 but you’ll soon find out if I’m correct if me not. Once they’ve been loosened (but not loose) with the door open push the window frame inwards then slowly close the door. Once you’re happy that the gap is reduced or as you want it then re-tighten the T45 fixing. Put the door panels back on and job done. You might have to go through trial and error with getting the gap exactly as you want it but it’s a very quick process.

Kind regards,

Tom

The window frame is bolted onto the lower door structure and as such there is room for adjustment in the fit.

Ah Tom just beat me to it!!

There is a little gauge that you can make to set the frame gap in the manual and will post a picture of it when I get a chance.

Perfect thanks guys I had a feeling it being bolted meant no bending! I'll give it try next Monday when I get the time and daylight. Cheers!!

Thanks people thats really useful info!! I have wind noise from the top of my driver door when I'm on the motorway as if the top of the door gets sucked out a little bit. If I put my hand up and pull it in a bit from the underside of the top its fine, so I'll have a go at adjustment mine too :)

Exact same issue yes! Let me know how it goes. I expect you'll do it before me!
