drivers interior door handle slow to retract back

drivers interior door handle slow to retract back, took the door card off and the handle on the door card is fine springs back nicely. its something mechanical
also taken off the metal panel off. Can see the rod with the hook when i pull with pliers still slow to retract back into the lock fixed the the door panel.

thinking about it now i guess i could take the white cable rod off and see if its still slow hopefully something popped off in the mechanism?

@timmus will know exactly what's going on here. Will probably have a new lock for you if you can hang on a couple of months (hopefully) until he'll be down South again.

FIXED back to normal I took off the door card and metal panel. Removed the rod from the holder lock side could feel the movement was smooth. So the cable inside the rod was bent luckily managed to straighten it and now all good.
have a look at some updates managed to do some other jobs
