Engine bay live isolation

Howdy folks

In the midst of engine removal on Mr Grey following a less than honest seller, beware!

Ideally I want to isolate the starter and alternator lives so the car security can remain operational but avoid creating sparking city whilst removing components. Would anyone know if their is a live connection under the passenger floor that feeds the engine lives that can be undone?

No joint in the positive lead unfortunately. What I would do is disconnect the battery positive then the positive connection on both the starter and alternator. Those two disconnected leads I would insulate the terminals with some heat shrink tubing and reconnect the battery. Just disconnect the battery, cut off the heat shrink and reconnect starter and alternator before the battery positive when ready to do so.
