Farewell

After 8 years, today is my last day of A2 ownership. :(
Sad to see it go, but hopefully it'll provide its new owner with many more years of happy motoring.
The future is electric for me, but you never know, I may be back one day...
Thanks to everyone in this club for making it what it is - always friendly, helpful and a pleasure to be part of.

Fare thee weel and enjoy your new electric toy. Maybe you'll be back in an A2 one day. Seems to happen a lot around here so again its a farewell and not a goodbye..you don't need to own an A2 to be part of the club. Always great to see positive feedback for the quirky wee forum. It's always been special thanks to the people that make up the community.

Thanks Murdo. The running costs and performance of electric are hard to beat, but I'm keeping my mind open for a possible return to A2 ownership in the future. :)

Once you get used to the frugal nature of the A2, especially the TDI, you end up wanting to save even more by going electric. That's what happened to me anyways. Good luck and may all your travel be quiet.

Fully endorsed. Glad you found our resource and community so engaging.

As Murdo says, you might well find you need to scratch the itch again, I did. All the very best with your new acquisition.

Haha yes, I know exactly what you mean! 😄
I hope you've found long-term EV life as good as I've found it so far. I've done several 200+ mile trips in my 4 months of ownership and they've been very enjoyable.

Rumour has it that my company will be bring out a salary-sacrifice electric car scheme soon, meaning it’d be a tax-free benefit.

I might be tempted to replace our family Touran, but the A2 is such a capable long-distance express that sips so little fuel I’m not sure it’d make sense to be honest.

I do hope it stops generating faults faster than I can get round to fixing them however, otherwise I could be tempted!
