Front ABS Sensor

Help can anyone tell me how often front abs sensors are generally changed.I did my about a year ago and they have failed again drivers side is this common:confused:

These sensors should last a lot longer than this - also, if you got the part from a dealer, all genuine Audi parts have a 2 year guarantee against faulty manufacture, it may be worth checking this line out first.

Cheers,

Front abs

Cheers Mike ,I say front ABS in the absence of VAGCOM.I checked out both front sensors today and the drivers side is showing signs of rubbing on the side of the sensor.Obviously something rotary is rubbing on the sensor internally.Being a hoarder I still have the old sensors and both are showing the same damage as I found today.I suspect that these abs sensors are small coils and have a disk passing very close to them to generate an electrical impulse which is picked up by the cars electronics.I also suspect that the same sensors impulse is used in the traction control side of life.Which led me to check the front sensors as I have both traction control and ABS lights on.The next problem is possibly the disk used to generate the impulse could be problematic hence the longish post here (YAWN)I was hoping to pick the brains of the forum Mike and see what came up.The sensors I will be using next time will be Audi and not 3rd party copies by the way.
