FSi error code

How do you know this from the reference code?

Unfotunately I can't find it listed on the CD or website links I have.

Just double checked my CD and it has come up think I had the settings wrong, it says:-

NOx Sensor (G295) Heater Control: Implausible Signal : P1071

Anyone know what parts this relates to, what this is describing.....recently replaced the front exhaust sensor but I know there is one under the passenger footwell....

Yes, you have replaced the exhaust gas temperature sender - the NOX sensor is, as you say, connected in the passenger footwell compartment, but if you follow the wiring, you'll see it goes through the floor and the sensor screws into the exhaust.

So the front sensor is not a NOX sensor it is a temperature sensor? just trying to make sure I get the right part as I know these things cost about £100 or so....
 
On the FSi, there is only 1 NOX sensor and 1 temperature sensor. On the 1.4 petrols, there is no tepmerature sensor and 2 NOX sensors.

PS Take your fault code in to the dealers to make sure they give you the right sensor, then if it's wrong, you have comebacks.
 
Thanks for the help guys, I have an old temp. sensor (the front one) which I will refit at the weekend as I replaced this part in the past in error so will see if this eliminates the front one as I believe there is a bit of interaction between the two and the fault code can sometimes be misleading......failing that I will speak with my dealer re; the fault code and get a new NOX sensor and hope this cures it.
