Fuel filler release not working

Hi All.
So, we have a fuel release that does not work.
All things check out (need new button of course!) but I think we have no power to the button.
Any bright ideas?

If you are getting no power to the button, this is probably the microswitch in the driver's door lock not letting the car know that the door is open. Does the interior light stay off with just that door open? Does it try to re-lock itself 30 seconds later? All these are microswitch symptoms.
