Hazard disconnection?

Was going to look at fixing my cupholders but cant seem to get the connector for the hazard lights to disconnect. Is there a technique and am I pressing the correct tab?

The clip tang is in the 'Or here' location. Push it upwards (towards the car's roof) and wiggle the connector free.

Does that side tab need pushing in. I’ve been trying for 20 mins and lost the feeling in my fingers!

Still no joy. I think the tang may be missing, as it looks like something has broken off in the past.

From my recollection, I think there is a small tab at the end of the added yellow arrow (you can just make it out in your pic) which you push towards the wires, and will release the connector.

Similar to the second photo attached.

Give that a try.

It's the little tab that Oskar has linked in his second photo above. Nothing else needs to be pocked or prodded, just the little tab pushing in.

Thanks all! Yes, this is the tab I started out pushing in but wouldnt disengage enough for me - despite much pulling/wiggling. I’ll try again when the feeling to my fingers has returned 😄

It's counter intuitive, but you need to push the connector in, as you push the tab, then, with the tab still pushed in, pull the plug out. Otherwise the latch is too tight to unlatch under pressure. 🤞
Mac.
