I have £2k to source the missus an A2 - am I bonkers??

My brief from the missus over the weekend was ' I need something that is ecomomical, cheap to tax/ insure but cool and not a skoda'
So that expains why I'm here as the A2 fits her requirements perfectly however I'm not sure it will fit my budget. I have £2k to spend, am I mad even considering I'll be able to find something half decent or should I give up now??

The A2 will be our second car and the missus will use it for the school/ shopping run.

Please, you thoughts are very much appreciated

As long as you don't want a decent diesel you should be ok. Plenty of nice 1.4's around the 2k mark

If you'll be using the car for short trips, the 1.4 petrol is the better choice. This is the most common A2 and there are plenty of decent examples out there for £2000.

Thanks for the advice, a 1.4 petrol would be idea for her as we have my oild burner for long runs.
Thanks also for the heads up on those three examples, although I doubt she would like the 'dog poo' brown example. I'm liking the orangey red though, never seen that colour before!!
 
If that was for sale in a couple of weeks I would have been very interested, it ended up selling for £1750 i think whic would suit my budget as i'd have a little cash left over to spend tidying/fixed/servicing the little gem.

I also like that pine green one too, oh I'm so excited about getting an A2.
 
:) I used to work that Arnold Clark garage, though at the time it was a Citroen and Fiat dealership, not "Prestige and Performance"
