Is this oil ok???

Hy, i have a 1.4 petrol audi with 130k miles and i'm due for service, the place i'm taking the car recomended castrol magnatec 10w-40 due to ''high mileage''.

Is this oil ok?
if not what would you recommend?

The latest VW / Audi oil spec for your petrol engine is VW 504.000 and I don't think Magnatec complies.
Castrol Edge 5w30 is the one I would use but its not cheap

As spike, i would recommend castrol edge 5w30. The last lot i bought was from asda and cost me £35 for 4 litres. Costco used to sell this for just under £30 but they recently started selling the 0w40 version instead, which also vw compliant.

It's worth keeping an eye on the 'oils' forum, Opie Oils often has special deals on edge (& other oils), and you get a club discount from them (mention your forum name when registering on their site).
