Little pipe symbol

Hey, I wonder what could be the reason that the little yellow pipe symbol is on? The car runs great, no problems at all, but the pipe symbol was this way ever since I bought it from the previous owner. He told me it's nothing to worry about. Thanks.

What's the pipe symbol look like - is it (o) ?

If so, it's the brake pad warning light and you'll need to change the discs and pads pronto!

Cheers,

Mike

It looks like the emissions light possibly Lamda sensor. You can reset it but it will go again. The start or cheapest part to replace, also the one under some of the most extreme conditions

Our engine management light came on whilst out and about on Sunday! Only recently bought her though so have a 6 month warranty and it's booked in for diagnosis on Friday - fingers crossed it won't be at any cost to ourselves (touch wood!)

Any ideas on common reasons for this light to come on or is it a case of suck it and see?

It's the Emission control system as it says in the pdf you guys linked me to.
Also, before the OK! on the dashboard, SERVICE! appears, what could this mean? (the car used to tell me "service in XXX km" before) Thanks.

Looks like it's time for servcie.. When was the last time the car was in for service? (milage and/or years)

Could just be a broken sensor.

Emission control system

Over the past 6 years i have had this little yellow ligh come on numerous times. At first i took it back + checked under warrenty but was showing no codes. It was only last week that it came on for 3 days and just went off for no reason.

Ok but what about the EPC and the yellow pipe?

The yellow pipe and the EPC says that something is wrong with the electroncis in the engine and that the engine is running in reduced power mode in order to prevent engine damage.

You should really take the car for service before the engine fails, it looks lite it's time for a cam belt change to...

They seem to be about £100 for the Lamda or exhaust gas temp sensor as it seems to be the same part sometimes also called oxygen sensor.
