MOT fail query

Hi there
I'm fighting to fix my passenger door lock
At the moment I have the card off and have smashed out the door lock module (the electrical switch and gears)
Since removing this the door opens and closes from the inside and out
Question i have is ...
When i put the door card on again the door latch doesnt seem to work via the door latch handle ...
Does anyone know if the car would fail the mot (next week) with the door card off and just the wire cable as the means to open the door from the inside?
I'll get it all sorted eventually but would ideally get the mot 1st as I'm running a bit short on time to fix it before.
would feel a bit wierd turning up to the mot without the door card on... but needs might must if its not an mot fail :)

Many thanks

The cable, the white one from the handle to the lock needs to be hooked onto the latch you pull to open the door from the inside has to be hooked in from underneath if you know what I mean, I've done the same thing in the past.
Check that first.

thanks Johny - yes i tired that but the lock is a bit knackered (technical term) and the latch ist managing to release the door via the cable so i think i'll try with just the cable and hope they dont fail it on that basis !

As far as i know the test requires the door to open from inside and outside, nothing about trims. So long as the tester can see how to open it

thanks Steve - really helpful. I think i'll write on the aluminium inner door panel some instructions ! fingers crossed

So long as excessive force isn't required and you can do it with your fingers I fail to see a tester having an issue, I know I wouldn't fail it as in essence the door can be opened from inside so no fault found! The note is a good idea thou!
