Hello all,

Last week I picked up my new A2. It's a 2003 (52 plate) 1.4 petrol SE in dolphin grey. One owner from new, full Audi service history at Stafford Audi (including every MOT until current), and 97k on the clock (and i'm not casting any aspersions but Radio 4 was the most worn preset button!). It's also got the usual wear on the CC buttons but apart from that it's tidy and I'm already smitten. There's not much in the way of bells and whistles (no opensky, DIS or leather seats etc) but there's no shame in that - it's my first A2 and I have to say I'm really chuffed with it. I paid £3,100 from a local non-Audi dealer, but as it has just has a new back box and central exhaust section and has 12 months MOT I'm not complaining -there aren't exactly loads for sale in the Chester area!

The timing belt was replaced at 44k (which is a little on the early side), so I'll probably look to have this done again soon together with the water pump for peace of mind, and of course a service.

Hopefully many years of happy A2 ownership lie ahead. Thanks for all your helpful posts which gave me lots of tips whilst I was hunting, I hope I'll be able to contrbute too. Oh, and finally, I think I'm going to call it...... A2D2 :D

Cheers all,

Funbus

Welcome fanbus I hope you enjoy many years of enjoyment from your a2. Please keep in mind they get under your skin! I have owned my red(brown) one for 4years----- we now own 3a2's!
I see you are in Chester, why not come to our social in Coventry on the 20th November? Great time to see some of the faces that make this site so good. Cheers mike

Welcome to the A2oc and A2 ownership:) they are great little cars I am sure that you will have many happy miles together.

It sounds like it has been looked after properly so you should not have any problems. If your car did not do a lot of milage in it's first 5 years then it's not unusual to change the cam belt at low milage. It's done on milage or every five years whater comes first. My cam belt was done at 17k at 5 years old.

As Mike said you are more than welcome to come along to the upcoming social. We are a friendly bunch and don't bite:) a good excuse for a good cury as well:).

Cheers

David

Thanks Dan/Mike/David for the warm welcome! I'm away with the family the weekend of your social I'm afraid but I hope all goes well and thanks for the invite.

Driving my A2 really is a pleasure. It's not about to burn anyone off at the lights but then that isn't the point of this car, is it? I can't tell you how glad I am I didn't settle for the 'alternatives' i.e. Golf, A-Class etc etc!

Cheers,

Robin
