New Member wanting a petrol A2

I've just joined the forum. I have had a MK2 Golf GTI 8v for over 27 years. It's a "keeper". However we have an 08 Skoda Octy Scout which is a great mile-muncher but repair costs are steep compared to fuel savings so it needs to go before I'm forced to change the grumbling DMF/clutch! I'm tempted by either the 1.4 or 1.6 petrol.
So I've started looking at petrol A2s. A trawl earlier in the week unearthed one on Gumtree but it needs work and it may cost more to rejuvenate than buying one in good order.
I went to a local car show and had the pleasure of chatting to the owner of an immaculate 1.6 Storm. Came home and did a bit of surfing to find one very cheap Storm with great MOT history but miles away. That one got away but I'll carry on looking.

Well worth travelling for the right car. They are a fairly rare car now so not a great deal of choice.

Message @Clackers he has a lovely blue Colourstorm 1.6 for sale that’s had all of the work done to it.

Thanks for the details. At this stage I'm looking for something circa £1500ish. So your's is a bit above my budget I'm afraid.
