Nice TDI in Ayr

Dropping the wife's VW Beetle off at Volkstec in Ayr for a service and I was really chuffed to see a nice Crystal Blue TDI on a 52 plate up on the ramps having some suspension work done. The little things that make your day ( the mechanic thought I was bonkers from the look on his coupon ) 🤣🤣

Yes it was mine. I think for servicing he maybe ok but I think mine was too difficult, also the length of time he had it from 6th December. The suspension is sorted but not the central locking not working when freezing cold and sluggish to start. At the moment I have my battery hooked to the charger in shed under repair mode.

6 Dec ? 😲 Aye the young lad did mention it wasn't the easiest car to work on..I just smiled 😀. Assume you've checked all the earth points if it's sluggish to start? That was my issue a few years back.

Checking the earth points next if charging the battery does not work. It was booked in for the 6th for the central locking not working in freezing cold, when I took it in I mentioned that it doesn’t drive right, Gordon took it out the next day and agreed with me that they was something not right. Gordon was going to work weekends and he would inspect it and find the fault. He did not look at until the 20th December when he found that the front wishbones mounting bolts were to blame for the fault because one bolt was broken and the other had a nut on it because the thread had been stripped. I ordered the parts (I don’t think he liked that but I was a partsman for eight years I also checked the A2 forum) I had them by the 22nd December and I got them to Volkstec on the 4th January to be assured they would be fitted the following week. Finally I got the news today they had finished the job.
