Oil service reset with VAG-COM

Can anybody help me i have just got the free down load of vag-com from ross-tek and give my 2001 y reg 1.4tdi an oil change. i have read the manual on the site of how to reset the service indicator (ie 17 instuments then to adaptations-10 then channel 02. but when i go to 02 theres nothing there. the only channel that looks anthing like is channel 09 and that tells me ( milage) (in 10) then blank. is this the write are. by the way i have the old type display that only gives me out side temp . no mph , or miles left in tank. i have also tyred to reset by using the trip meter buttons as it tells you in the audi manual. please help.
 
The reset via the buttons on the dash panel will only give you fixed service intervals, and it never fails to work.

Which version of VAG COM and interface are you using? The newest versions have an SRI function built in.
