Passenger door control module hunt

Hi there
Lock problems and will try the door control module first I think before cutting into the lock etc
Does anyone know where I'd best locate one please?

Have you checked the wiring for the door as it comes through the A pillar. These can corrode inside the two halves of the plug. Obviously if the door can not be opened then you will not be able to access these plugs.

Place a wanted ad your best bet for a replacement door controller.

I'll see if I can get the door open somehow first !
I was wondering if the door control unit from the rear door could be used to test things but I'm not sure if it's similar enough till I take things apart

I've got a number of these available, happy to post one out on a sale or return basis, just cover postage. As Audifan says, it may be the loom in the door causing your problem, at the a pillar. I have had this on a couple of A2's in the past, especially the older ones like yours.

Thanks Clackers. I think there was a good post from someone with the same issue who then cut the door latch off... but then found it was the control unit after all.
