Persistent code won't clear.

Evening all, so I know I've got a blown intercooler, and that's the obvious place to start when curing my limp mode issue when I have time to get the front end off.

But the code 17964/P1556 won't clear. I don't seem to be able to get rid of it.

Doesn't matter whether the engine is running or not, it won't go away.

I'm using OBD Eleven, which I've always found to be pretty good on other VAG cars.

Has anyone else had this issue?

ive just been out and tested vcds as mine did the same code this weekend . its should clear until engine is running and you hit the same problem that pulled the code . do you have anyone local on the vcds register that could help ?

I've just had another go and it's cleared (and stayed off after a short drive, so perhaps the JB Weld short term bodge I've done has worked).

good work , mine is being caused by the o ring that joins the intercooler so only minor, its not like the 75hp is creating 30 psi lol
