Remove gear cables

Hi All,

Anyone know how to physically remove the gear cables from the car?

I have both ends of both cables released, thinking that brute force and ignorance would either get them to pull out from under the bonnet or inside the car, but they're not having any of it!!

on the very early cars there’s a 2 part clip on the bulkhead that stops the cables moving.

On the later cars you can just listen off the rubber grommet on the bulkhead and pull
Through from the engine bay side

At least I now know which way to pull them, and that there should be nothing holding them in position (it's an 02 plate car)!

Will have another go at the weekend.
