What VAG-COM version works on a 2001 Petrol 1.4 A2?
I see many types of cables here..

704.1 ; 409.1 ; 607.3 ; 805

Any ideas?
 
They all work, but 409 is not very comprehensive - most of the modules on the car won't talk to it.

You need a genuine cable then updates are free.

I just bought one from ebay for the same reason : reading errors codes and resetting the warning ligh and the service indicator, with the ShareWare version 409.1 of VAG-COM.
I have paid 12€, I don't expect it to be the full monty...
I'm waiting for it to be delivered.

is it possible to code the anti-hijack feature with 409.1?

I know about the boot not locking, but adding 16 to the code should rectify this.
