Just stocked up on a couple of castrol edge 5w30 oils and some 0w30 for my xc90.
I have never seen edge this cheap before, not even in Costco.

it does indeed look very cheap, £27 for 4L and there is a new local ECP near me too! Halfords is doing a discount but still some £36 for 4L. It'll make a slightly cheaper service for me this time :) thanks for the heads up!
 
I found the offer, then thankfully this thread.

I entered the reg number of my 1.4 tdi, it came up with 2 reccomendations for castrol edge, one is FST 5/30 and the other is FST 5/40 turbo diesel.

I have always used 5/30, the car does 5k miles a year and although I regularly check the level, it has never needed to be topped up, so I am ok with the thinner oil.

Which one to buy? I assume it's the 5/30???

Bought mine from Costco too. They normally stock different grades or Mobil 1. Also noticed it was cheaper at Halfrauds... and that's saying something.
 
Just had the latest voucher offer through from Costco & they have 20% off all Castrol Oils. The one that stands out for me is the price for 4 litres of Castrol Edge 5W/30 which is down to £23.98 inc. VAT

Obviously need a Costco card or know someone who has.

While ECP is doing 25% and castrol edge is still very cheap and you might be tempted to order other parts like filters and sparkplugs, also worth knowing, carparts4less is the same business group as ECP but they don't have retail outlets. My shopping list for filters and sparkplugs for the other car came to £100 on ECP before their 25% off code but carparts4less sells most things 25% cheaper than ECP and currently offers 5% discount on all orders saving me an extra few quids. However, carparts4less' castrol edge is £3 more expensive than ECP, so do your shopping!
