Can someone please produce a list of the meeting points north and southbound please? Also times?
The other thread has gone a bit wobbly and I'm a bit lost! [29]
We're staying in Birmingham so want to join somewhere from there for the last 30 minutes or so!

My post in the other thread:
quote:
From the north, it looks like there is a services between Jct 13 and Jct 12, labelled as Warwick Southbound.
Meeting point from the North then?
This is very close to the destination so the convoy wouldn't be very long at all. Perhaps there is a location further away?

I just don't want to drive north (and away from the Museum) to see a convoy going south!!!

So, is the defintive meeting point the services just north of the Gaydon exit between J12 and J13 (the closest one), or are we having 2 arrival convoys, one northbound and one southbound?

I would imagine two - one from each side...
My plans have changed... It will only be me coming up now so I will get up early Sunday and join the main northbound convoy... Just have to trawl through all these posts to see where, when and at what time the meeting point is...

These were my suggestions:
From the North: There is a services between Jct 13 and Jct 12 labelled as BP Warwick. This is 5.7 miles from The Heritage Motor Centre so will take you 10-15 minutes as a convoy to get there. I'd suggest meeting there at about 10:15am to get the for around ~10:30am.
From the South: Just before Jct 10 of the M40 there is a services (I think it is an Esso). This is 23.9 miles from The Heritage Motor Centre so will take you around 30 minutes as a convoy to get there. I'd suggest meeting there at about ~10:00am to get there for around 10:30am.
Are these ones that everyone is using or is there some different meeting points from a previous post that Ihaven't seen?

I guess these are the ones.
Well, I'll be at the BP Warwick (between J12 & 13) at 10:10 (leave at 10:15) if people would like to join me travelling southbound. If not then I guess I'll be 'A2 no mates' in a convoy of one... Never been there, but I'll try to park somewhere obvious (probably near food if my stomach has anything to do with it!) :D

By the way, on the off chance that anyone checks the forum before tomorrow, I've just noticed that I made a small typo on the meeting point suggestions, the times I suggested were leaving times not meeting times:
From the North: There is a services between Jct 13 and Jct 12 labelled as BP Warwick. This is 5.7 miles from The Heritage Motor Centre so will take you 10-15 minutes as a convoy to get there. I'd suggest leaving there at about 10:15am to get the for around ~10:30am.
From the South: Just before Jct 10 of the M40 there is a services (I think it is an Esso). This is 23.9 miles from The Heritage Motor Centre so will take you around 30 minutes as a convoy to get there. I'd suggest leaving there at about ~10:00am to get there for around 10:30am.

Stuart: there is a closer service! Where the M40 splits into the A40 to Oxford, there is a service. Thus junction 8. So by my reconning we can meet there at around 9:30?
It is called OXFORD Services and is 17 miles before the J10 services, CHERWELL VALLEY.

Fair enough - but the only issue is if enough people know about this as right now everyone thinks they are meeting at the jct 10 services and without messing up already laid plans, I would perhaps assume for now that the jct 10 services is the the place to meet as I don't know who will check this forum or their email between now and tomorrow morning.

Granted... I thought much the same... and 17 miles is not that much... I'm going through the Oxford services anyway, departing at 9:30... so anyone wanting to meet there first fine and then we mini-convoy to J10 and meet the pre-arranged people there...
Really starting to look forward to it now!
BTW Stuart: do we have to take out tickets? Is that the only way in I suppose?

You absolutely MUST bring the tickets - this is what you have paid for and the only way to get in to the museum!
Please read the email I sent out on 28/05/03 - all the instructions are on that email.
If you have lost the email or never got it, email me tonight on stuart@audi-a2.co.uk and I'll resend it to you.
