Was it you? I let a gntleman in a silver A2 pass me on the car park of the Blyth Services on the A1 at approximately 6.40pm on 22nd June. In return he gave me a royal wave as he drove past.

Just found this thread - possibly it was me! I left Inverness at 12.45pm on that Sunday, down the trusty A9/M80/M73/M74/M6/A66/A1/M11 combination to London - don't think I wave that regally though!

And I thought I was driving a long way that day - from Peterborough to St Helens. It was good to see you!

And good to see and hear from you too! I've been doing that journey on a regular basis for almost 10 years, and can manage it in just over 8 hours - without feeling tired afterwards (unlike my previous H-reg Escort 1.3...)!

Don't know about you, but I believe that the A2 is better as a motorway car than a city car - perhaps if it was marketed in a slightly different way the sales might be higher.
