To all you UK owners of brand new A2's....
Firstly, well done for buying a modern masterpiece.
Secondly, how long was the delivery time? Our replacement is hopefully going to be ordered in the next few days through the insurance company, so we have not been given any estimated times yet.
Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

From order to delivery-two weeks. The dealer had pages of cars just sat in the UK waiting for a dealer to say "yes, I have a customer".

Unfortunately, with all the options and the colour we want, I can guarantee there won't be one just sitting there waiting - it will have to be a factory order.
When we ordered in July last year, we had to wait until October for arrival.

Rob-get the prayer mat out, cross everything, buy pegs off old women at the door, buy a copy of the big issue, give your bank details to some charity collector in the street....and you never know what's sitting at the docks awaiting it's new owner!!!

I'd be amazed if there is one already out there to the spec we want as Merlot red is now a non standard A2 colour.

I waited 12 weeks. Not sure how they did it, however the dealer was spot on.
Mine was 8 weeks and a couple of days, but I did plead for an early production slot so that delivery coincided with my wife's birthday and they obliged. Might be worth a similar story or something?

I wonder whether they are deliberately extending/exaggerating delivery times to try and off load the cars that are in the UK but unallocated. I doubt that demand is so high that they don't have room for you on the conveyor; especially when they have managed to produce so many (perhaps hundreds) that remain unallocated.

When my first A2 was bought, I waited 14 weeks for the standard black colour with CD player as the only extra. When this was written off I asked for a TDI SE in Azure Blue with climate control, and drove it away ten days later. Push for a quick turnaround. Audi UK and my local dealer did because I was an existing customer.

Unfortunately, we are fussy gits and we knew the car wouldn't be sitting at a dock waiting for us. Apparently, leather puts the delivery up by a week or 2.
Full spec of ours.
Ebony Black
Red Leather
Climate Control
Open Sky
DIS
Symphony Headunit
Elec Rear Windows
Isofix
Spare Wheel
No Rear Model Inscription
5 Spoke Alloys
Ordered yesterday - delivery October. Same as a year ago. At least Audi's are predictable - in a good way.

Glad you decided on another A2!!! Now just the wait! But personally I much prefered the old colour to boring old black!!!! Grrr... but each to his own as I guess Crystal is seen as boring by some! :D

If money was no object, I would have preferred another Merlot but I wasn't prepared to pay £1000 for an option that was already on the original car. After the black, the next choices were Crystal Blue or Cobalt Blue.

Black with red leather is a fine choice Rob. :)

Anyway Johann, it's not boring old black, it's Ebony Black. In the right light it reflects really well and looks like a dark charcoal.
Still slightly miffed about the Merlot experience tho'.

[21] hehehe OK OK!!!!
But there is just one problem: "in the right light"!!!! in the UK that means about 13,6 days a year!!! And guaranteed on 4,4 of those days the car won't be washed and the other 9,2 days it will be in Heathrow's longterm car park as you're on holiday in Spain!!!

Ok, you got me there! But you got to admit it would have looked damn good over the last few days. Just hope this weather lasts 'till next weekend when I'll be at Silverstone cheering on Montoya
P.s. never been to Spain. Morrocco, Maldives, USA & Blackpool but never Spain.
