Hi Guys,
we picked up our new A2 from Ingolstadt yesterday...it was really interesting; got a tour of how A3 are built; museum; food etc. It was well worth the trip down.
The car is totally cool...has everything; including red leather interior...but have a look for yourselves!
After picking up the car we went to an A2 meeting...with the old car too; and basically used it as a spare parts car for anybody that needing anything!!
You can see it on the last photo really well; where one of the guys swapped his old winder wipers for ours.
WE drew a line though at the S-line Alloy wheels!!
We hope that this A2 brings better luck and that we can enjoy many hours of driving.
Have a look at the photos and see what you think!

Hi Thomas I like your A2.[8D] It is similar to ours[24].We had the only amulet red car at the recent U.K club meeting. There are not very many cars the same colour as ours in the U.K. I have only ever seen one on the road in our neck of the woods. We too will be visiting the factory at Ingolstadt at the beginning of August what's it like? What type of Audi did you see being manufactured. We would have liked to have gone to the factory at Neckarsulm to see the A2 being made but it was closed for the holidays:( All the best R and K O'Donoghue

I'd always thought of the Castle Red as a bit Austin Allegro but after seeing the pictures of this social I think it looks a fabulous colour - just a shame it's been discontinued in the UK (along with Merlot).
Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Guilty that we had a Merlot A2, another of which I've never seen and probably won't now due to the decision to withdraw the colour. A car that could have become a future collectors car due to the rarity but was ripped from our grasp by the actions of an idjit. (all said very tongue in cheek)
If we ever get to do a joint social, we could have filled one of the gaps, leaving just a white A2 to find.

Just two observations:

Very nice looking car Thomas. I do like the Amulet. As was mentioned earlier, there was only one at our recent social and it realy did stand out. As for the red leather, we like that so much, our next A2 will have it.

Why do we NEED sport seats and heated seats? Purely for the aesthetics or from a functional point of view?
We only had standard seats in our original A2 and these were perfectly acceptable for comfort, holding you in the right places and looking OK. As for heated seats, I can envisage using these on only the coldest of mornings and are more of a luxury than a necessity.

Heated seats a luxury??
My wife thought so until she tried them... even when it is warm they provide a nice warming massage type effect (nice after a long day in teh office - even better when you use the electric lumber support to move in and out.
;)
Cheers

well sport seats are maybe not that important..it depends on how much time you spend in the car..they are really comfortable. But you have to have heat for the leather s seats..... they are just too cold in Winter otherwise.
Cruise control is also really excellent ...you can save a lot of petrol with it too, as the speed remains constant.
Here is a link for my A2 with a couple of more photos so that you can get a good view.
ps. Where is Stu, by the way, haven't heard anything from him in a while.
