It's probably a bit late in the day to organise this for this year, but would anyone be interested in using this as a club social event next year??

I think I more or less came to an agreement with a few willing volunteers that I would try and share some of the work - social events included.
As it stands right now, I am away on business most of the week, so less time is spent on the websites or club anyway. So I will continue at this pace for the time being.

Saturday 11th October is the main club day at Castle Coombe (http://www.audidriverinternational.co.uk/).
I've been having some correspondance with them today and they say that they can reserve a patch for us all to park together if I can indicate numbers.
I know it's really short notice, but is anyone able to say 100% that you will be able to join me on the day?
I think if we can a few of us there, we've got a good chance of a photo or two in the next Audi Driver mag as by the sounds of it, all they ever get are TTs and Quattros attending and so a bunch of A2s would be a novelty for them this year!
As far as I can tell, entrance is free. I just need to advise of numbers as soon as possible.

A friend with a chipped S3 has just contacted me about going as well - that would have been fun.
We still don't have a definite date for our car yet so we don't know if it'll be here by the 11th anyway.

Go on then, you've twisted my arm...... count me in.
Just checked, it's about 220 miles from me but it sounds like it should be a good day out. I've previously been to events such as GTI International at the Transport & Research Laboratories which was organised by the same people (VW Audi Car)and found it to be well organised with lots to see and do.

A convoy drive sounds like a good idea...we'll sort it all out nearer the time.

9 is a good number, but again it would be great to have an even larger group. Please think about and post here or email me (stuart@audi-a2.co.uk) if you'd like to come. Once again, the date is Saturday 11th October at 9:00am. I need to know if you are coming by the end of this week.
Also, if you'd like to take your A2 around the track, it is £30 per session. It is advised that you book this in advance, it's also strongly advised that you inform your insurance company! We already have one volunteer to take his A2 around the track - which is something I have got to see!
If any of you are interested in participating in a convoy drive on the way there to get there for 9:00am, please post here.

I'd be up for the convoy but I'll have to ask a couple of people first to see what their plans are. As far as I'm aware so far, there will be Us, an S3, a Golf GTi PD150 and a couple of Mk1 GTi's also going from my area (friends & family).

It should look very similar to Kaine's A2, I've always really liked combination of black exterior/red leather.

The Accident was 27th May and this A2 was ordered just over 3 months ago. Just over 4 months in total from accident to replacement car.
Spooky but it will be exactly a year next week, since we took delivery of the Merlot A2.

My caravan is about 3 miles away, we go there often, but not the race track. It's well signposted from Junc 7 of M4 if that is your concern, just past Tiddlywink (fact!)
Thanks for that, getting there's not a problem (ex despatch rider and all that). I was wondering what the facilities are like in and around the area.

Its Junction 17 when travelling from London (i.e. Westbound)
If you come from west side they take you down Junction 18.
Please observe speed limits in the small villages aroun Castle Combe - the police will be waiting !

I'm going to go mad soon...I think I'm the only person who hasn't seen it yet. I'm still getting post that is 2-3 weeks old due to the strike and so god knows where my Audi Driver magazine is!!
Does anyone know if you can buy Audi Driver in any shops? - I couldn't find it at WHSmiths the last time I went.

It's a bit hit and miss Stuart. Some Smiths seem to stock it and some don't - wierd!!!

Loadsa copies in my local WH Smiths-they should be able to source copies for you. I can't remember what's on the front, but it is the November issue.
If anyone has real problems getting hold of copies I may be coaxed into buying some and posting them (providing there are any left).

Just got home to find it was had arrived in this morning's post!
It's good that we got a mention. I thought they were a little stingy with the photos especially having seen how many he took of all of us at our stand, on the track and after the lap round the track that we all did.
Nevermind, we'll try harder next year!
