Hi There,

I know this isn't the for sale section, but thought it a good place to mention it. I'm selling my A2TDI Impossible Performance chip as my girlfiend doesn't require it. She's quite happy with the standard performance.

The chip will fit a 2002+ 1.4TDI. It totally transforms the car as I have mentioned in previous posts. It gave better MPG, increased the responsiveness and increased the power across the rev range.

It's yours for £200...

It's very easy. The ECU is in the compartment in the passenger footwell. It took me just a few mins to swap back to the old chip. There is a socket with two clips, and you simply drop the chip in and close the clips. I'm not sure if the socket was added by the tunning company or is standard. I will contact them and find out.

RTV - Doesn't the A2's software need to be modified before the chip will work?

No I don't think so. The chip is the software, as far as I know all the software which controls the alarm, aircon and engine is all contained on the chip. I will find out exactly what will be invovled.

There are a few problems with transferring an ECU chip to another car. Firstly it would have to be programmed with the immobiliser information which requires the equipment to do so and secondly the housing in the ECU unit that holds the chip isn't standard - the Upsolute reseller would have fitted this - so you would need the equipment to remove your original chip and fit the upgraded one.

I think you would have to offer the 2nd hand chip considerably cheaper to make it worth anyone's while.

Plus if you get the Upsolute reseller to do it he can tweak the upgrade if you aren't happy with the change in anyway.

Sorry if I ruin your sale RTV but I have experience of this with my old Leon TDI and want to help any buyers make the right decision.

I personally want to get an A2 again at some point and I'll only consider it if I'm getting the chipped diesel or the new, more powerful diesel (could just chip that aswell!).
