It's never before been attempted by the A2OC...the 'Group Buy' is officially here [23].

If you've never considered something like this before, now's a good opportunity especially as this is with such a reputable company. If this is successful, it is sure to open up doors to discounts and deals in the future for us all.

For full details, please click here (http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/group.htm)

Post here or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Stuart.

Why did I go for a petrol??? D'oh!!
Good going Stuart - absolute bargain if you can get the required numbers.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a 1.4SE petrol. http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/uk14.htm http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/safety.htm
New A2 - Ebony Black, Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

So, let's get this straight...

Jon, you want the exhaust
Puma, you want the chip

The exhaust is usually £236 + vat + fitting, so atleast £277.00 inc vat + fitting, so may be around £350.00 ?

The offer price is £763.75 incl vat. Leaving a cost of £413 for the chip tuning/fitting/rolling road/warranty etc

RTV is selling his chip but we are unsure of the fitting/software issues.
The chip is £200, AMD ex exhaust is around £413.

I will start saving while waiting to hear from RTV.

Stuart,
Can you confirm the power increase as the info on their old website was 25bhp and 30lbs/ft torque (just for the rechipping) and 5-7 bhp for the exhaust.

In my book thats about 30bhp increase and not the 20 they are quoting for the stage 2 upgrade??

To Lee and Sheridan - you may have missed my last note but I have had the chip and exhaust fitted for some time. Combined effect was 99hp (+24) and 188lbft (+44). BUT - every car will be different and this is why AMD uses the rolling road so that the chip settings can be adjusted to suit. One key factor with diesel tuning is smog - the settings should be adjusted to avoid excessive smog when accelerating or you'll get nicked. Anyone should bear that in mind if they get a chip and fit it themselves - it might not react well with their particular engine. Audi does not guarantee that their engines are consistent so you may have 75hp or you may have 73 or 80 to start with. The combination of exhaust and chip should get the best out of each by this theory.

MM,
Fully understand your reasons and agree that 75bhp is a average across a range of test engines but my question was why did they change their website and why the loss of 10bhp from the chip and exhaust..

How are you finding the change and would you recommend it.

[11]Remapper's claims of increased engine power are often unreliable.

All they have to do is get a particularly good engine and test it in cold conditions, and maybe on a dynometer that over-reads.

Even then, measuring peak power doesn't tell you anything about the spread of power.

Acceleration times are often not as good as expected, as power throughout the rev range hasn't been improved by the same percentage as peak power.

In a recent car magazine test, a standard 130PS 1.9 diesel Golf was tested at 141PS. After the remap it went up to 163PS which sounds quite impressive. However, the 0-60mph time only came down from 8.4secs to 7.9secs.[11]

jk - Was it just the chip you had done or the exhaust as well?
Out of interest what impact did it have on your insurance?

No, it's just you. I'm not included in it.
I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately unless more people are interested. It's a shame, it a good price for a very good product.
