Having just taken a large 'bite' out of my front nearside 162 SE wheel can anyone:

a) recommend a good psycoanalyst?
b) recommend a good wheel refurbisher?
c) Inform me of the paint code for the colour?

All/any help gratefully received as I am about to go into the garden shed and commit Hara-Kiri. [11]

Sorry - cant help but thought I'd make you feel better. I recently bought a BMW 330i Sport with those lovely 18" alloys and got back from a week away on business to find my wife had brutally kerbed both front wheels!!! I could buy a car for the cost of replacing those!!!

Can't help with wheels, but Hara Kiri......
I found a good re-furbisher , but he is frightened that if he does mine then my Audi dealer won't use him. So I got them to do it, 75 quid!.
I found quite a few on the internet last night, 'cos I've done it again!!

Audi Driver magazine (Sept 03) ran an article on Pristine wheel reconditioners in Milton Keynes. I have no first hand experience of the company but they sound very professional. The web address is www.alloywheelrefurbishers.co.uk

Touchup paints?

Having, after 30k miles of driving, misjudged the width of the A2 by about 8-microns, I find I have removed some laquer & silver paint from the wheel rim.

Has anyone found a good choice of silver paint to touch up alloy wheels with? I cant beleive AUDI don't sell paint for alloys, there must be a demand!

Apparently, the new Golfs have a 5 stud, 100mm PCD pattern, the same as A3's. Don't know if this is the same as the A2 stud pattern.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a 1.4SE petrol. http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/uk14.htm http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/safety.htm

The Golf Mark 4 wheels should fit. What size tyres would you use?

Check that the offsets are similar.

The offset is given by an ET number which is usually stamped on the rim. For example, ET35, means it has an offset of 35mm.
