Any opinions about Dunlops... Good or bad???

I was going to put Michelin's on, but with an estimated 3 week + delivery (Michelin THINK but aren't sure... if they don't know who does?) and a large blister after hitting a paving slab in the road [29] I need to make a decision soon, I refuse to continue with Pirelli's as I just don't feel they have the grip.

Have you got the 16" or 17" wheels?
I've got Dunlops on the 17" wheels and as far as grip, wear and road noise are concerned they are fine. The Michelins do have one advantage over the Dunlops in 17" guise and that's the protection the side walls offer against kerbing. Wearing the Dunlops leaves the wheel pretty much protruding and exposed to kerb damage.
Hope that helps.

Shaf,

Thanks for the info, I'm on 16" rims with P's which also have very little in the way of rim protection. I think I'll give the Dunlops a go before my blister pops.

Hi Andrew,

I had 2 x 16" Dunlops fitted up front a few weeks ago. I really haven't noticed any differences to the Michelens before (apart from cost)

Michelins are nearly always the most expensive make of tyre. Sometimes a little, usually a lot. [6]

Memory isn't so hot, but I think they were £86 each.

Got 2 Dunlops today £188 inc fitting a tyre swap to an old rim (so I now have a full size spare to keep in the garage) and balancing of 4 rims. They certainly offer better rim protection than the Pirelli's, the ride feels a little harder but that's good.
