£450 for a first servive although included a new key
which accounted for £150 of it
Dovercourt Audi Battersea who were very efficient, nice coffee :>)drove
me to the tube, called me promptly when ready, washed and cleaned the car etc
That said £300 for essentially an oil change etc is
not cheap
I wonder how much a Ford Fiesta service would cost to compare

For comparison, I had my 1.0L Corsa serviced yesterday at a main dealer (2nd service) and the total came to £210.
This included a load of filters and the oil - but still seems quite high for such a modest car.
Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Bargain price of £423 ;)
This included: first service (~£295), new front brake pads (~£113), new wiper blade (~£15)
Model: 2001 1.4 TDi SE, service carried out in West London.
Mileage: 23,194
Service was good despite the technician bending my handsfree phone kit speaker bracker wih his knee (below steering column)...and not owning up to it when I collected the car. Needless to say, they ended up offering to replace the bracket!

Islandgreen - you are right. Either they are all millionaires or someone else foots their bill.
antonymark31 - Dovercourt Battersea? Try phoning them and asking them for their hourly rate. Wait while they waffle on about charging by units of labour etc. etc. I asked 5+ years ago and they eventually admitted to £67 per hour (100.00Euro) plus tax.
I went to Audi concessionaires Vanderhaeghen NV in Belgium to save money(!)
- First small service then was 84.87EUR plus 21% tax = 102.69EUR (equivalent to £56.86 plus 21% tax = £68.79) including everything.

I allways phone up several garages in advance
Here in Alkmaar *(the Netherlands)
Our Audi has to have a service and the brake disks + the brake pads have to be replaced.
AUDI *(local dealer called Martin Schilder)www.martinschilder.nl service normal about € 260 + € 320 for the brake disks and the pads totals € 580
Kwik Fit ( http://www.kwikfit.nl/) here can also do the job service cost 159 € + 270 for the brakes total = €429
Local garage *(www.primoto.nl) is a proper garage never have been any problems with them they are local for me nice guys excelent service charge € 380,- for both jobs which also includes APK *(our MOT)
Easy aint it the car is three years old out of guarantee and the local Audi garage is big enough so why pay extra for the same job.

Hi, Beechwood Audi (Halesowen West Mids) wanted £250 - £270 from me, they charge £75 per hour. I decided that I could get my accountant or solicitr for a similar rate. I did the service my self, oil £40 (proper Castrol long life) oil filter about £10 (trade non genuine) flushing oil £4 AUdi don't do this, Brake pads £25 (non genuine and better than Audi original -brake fade reduced) and about 2 hours time in the garage including re-painting reusty brake drums. 9 months old 31k. A2 TDi Sport. I also spotted 2 further oil leaks whilst servicing which it went to the dealers to have fixed under warranty.
Hi Mr A.Smith.
i am under the assunmption that if you service the car your self your warrantee wil be invalidated. Correct me if i am wrong.

The warranty is void if you use non genuine parts and do not service it at the correct intervals. If you need to make a claim within the warranty period they'll probably want proof of parts used. So make sure you hold onto your invoice for the genuine parts.
Audi Head Office confirmed this for me. Apparently by law you can now take any make of car to any garage.
I've already posted this on another thread but maybe useful:
I've been to collect the parts for the service, here's what you need and how much:
Part No. Description Price (Excl. VAT)
030115561AB Oil Filter 3.86
N90813201 Sump Plug 0.80
6Q0820367 Pollen Filter 10.81
ZGB115CLB00110 Castrol Oil 12.70 (per litre)
I ordered 6 litres, apparently a service needs 4-5, so then 1 spare for topping up.
I also ordered front brake pads:
1J0698151E Brake Pads 42.00
There are two types of brake pads depending on what model of A2 you have, the prices are £49.35 or £67.35 incl VAT.
All in all, not cheap but will still save quite a bit on Audi's price. I've been given a quote of around £100 from the garage so total cost £200 (excluding brake pads as their not part of a first service). Quite a good saving on the £330 Audi wanted to charge me.
2nd VSI service (100.000km/65.000mi), including cambelt change : 700 EUR (460 GBP).
Quite reasonable..
Strangely enough, the brake pads have (again) not been changed..? They do check them,
or so they tell me. I know my daily drive isn't hard on them, but to go 100.000km (or 150.000 as they will have to last till the next service) seems a lot.

325 inc brake pads. I still think it is a total crime. Although I think it is worse that audi garages can differ so much in price ?

Audi garage in Poole Dorset
1st service for my petrol at 15k at hitchin Audi cost me £277-49 they loaned me a lovely a4 sportsline. However they did ring me at 8am the morning of the service to tell me that they didn't have a car for me despite having to book 5 wks earlier to have a courtesy car. After a little discussion they said they would have to find me a car and they did. But to be honest i liked the A4 but when i got back in my car i knew the A2 was the right one for me. They can keep their fancy A4's!!!!!!
First Service cost just under £300 from the Audi dealer in Hull. But was not inpressed when they marked the edges of my bonnet when they lent it up. Supplied me with the touch up paint to touch it up.

Had first longlife service at 26k which cost 295.00 at Beechwood Audi, including brake fluid change.
Car had not been washed or cleaned when I picked it up, despite being told that it had been.
Not 100% sure that service has been carried out as oil is very black - was told by service manager that this happens immediately when oil replaced on diesel engine.
Had A4 2.5 TDI tiptronic as courtesy car .... maybe this is why my a2 seemed to drive so badly after picking it up from service !

I had my car serviced an A2 TDI SE by Lancaster Audi in Liverpool, I was quoted £244 and a further optional cost of £44 for the brake fluid to be changed a grand total of £288 inclusive of VAT etc,. Maybe I should not have agreed to the brake fluid being changed as the car has only done 8000 miles since new, but I did anyway.I was happy with the way they dealt with my car except that they removed, and left off the engine cover (I wonder how many members check theirs when their cars come back after a service as it must be there for a reason) it is going back to have a new one fitted which they lost, they washed the car and left some complimentary sweets,a bottle of air freshener spray and a huge bottle of screen wash additive. Being an Engineer myself I do,not know how they justify the costs,I suppose if you divide it by two, because it will not need servicing for another two years £144 a year is not too bad.

My nearest Audi dealers are St.Albans and Amersham but the one in Slough gave me the best quote for service.

Audi in Amersham could not give me exact quote for a service, about £300?
Audi in St.Albans never phoned me back when I tried to p/x my old Puma for A2, so I promised myself to give them wide berth in the future.

Had my Audi A2 1.6FSI 8 weeks. Its 18 months old and had 7000 miles on the cclock when I bought it. It had an Audi multipoint check before delivery. I asked whether it had been serviced, queried oil change. Told that had variable service intervals and long life oil. Then they said it had been serviced. How do I tell?

Had first service (A2 Tdi) in Stockport last week at nearly 2 years and 2800 miles - £292 inc brake fluid change (less than estimate when booking in). Service seemed OK (just oil plus filter plus pollen filter) but brakes in bad state - heart-stopping moment first time I touched the pedal. Luckily I remembered to pump the pedal. Back next morning for 1 hour whilst they bled the air out of the brakes. No apology and brake fluid spilt in the engine compartment.

Just been phoning around for quotes for my 1st variable service at 23months old and 22k, TDi Sport. Ranges from £275, Whites, Camberley to £320, Aston Green, Slough. Plus £79-£85 for brake fluid change. All inc parts, labour and vat.
I'm amazed at how all the quotes seem to vary, especially for those of you 'up north', seems us southerners have to pay a premium. Oldi a2 says £44 for brake fluid in Liverpool- why is it double in Surrey?
Also, does it help to supply your own oil?

Wonton,
It is normal for the 'next service due' to show 9,300 miles when it's been reset after a service. You will find the figure gradually increases over the next few weeks. I've found the more miles you travel the higher the figure gets. For example, after doing 2,500 miles in 6 weeks the 'next service due' went from 9,300 miles to 28,600 miles.
Hope that reassures you.

My first variable service is due - just rang Bradford Audi - full service, all parts £207.07 inc VAT. New A3 booked for the day.
On our 1.4 SE the first variable service was conducted at around 20,000 miles and 2 years old. Cost £250 at Millhouse Audi in Bath. Reasonably pleased with the service from them - very pleased with new shape A3 2.0 litre FSI Sport with leather interior courtesy car!
Also, they conducted warrenty claims efficiently, but this week we tried Swindon Audi (just off J16 of the M4) for the first time on a warrenty claim repair and they were excellent. Loan car was an A2 1.6 FSI Colour Storm with 5,000 miles on clock. (We like the extra 'go' in the 1.6 FSI engine, compared to our petrol 1.4!).
Overall, I think the price at Bath Audi looks good compared to what some of you have paid, so am happy.
But, will try Swindon Audi for the next service, as they appear a little more switched on than Bath, and the car came back immaculately clean both inside and out - better than I have ever achieved (and I'll spend half a day cleaning it!)

Further to my post above I had my car serviced yesterday.
- How much you paid for your first service (please state GBP or Euros + country)?
Sorry to make some of you weep - £206.69 so LESS than the quote!
- Does that cost include anything other than the first service? Handbrake adjustment on my request FOC
- Which model of A2 you have? 1.4TDi 75 23,500 miles covered - still showing 2,000 before service due, but I am doing some long journeys soon so had it done early.
- Were you happy with the service/treatment received? - Very happy 10/10. My first call was to ask the price - no one there as it was late in the day, Tracy rang me back just after 9am the next morning with a price of £207-07. I knew this price was very good so didn't even bother calling other dealerships. Asked for an A3 for the day - booked me in on a day when it would be available (see later!). Said car would be ready for about 4pm. Chris from service rang me at just after 3pm to say it would be nearer 5pm before it was finished. Call at 4.45pm from Chris to say car was ready. Collected car, bill was £206.69 so less than quote (no silly charges for screen wash etc either). No problems found with car (so no phone calls about low brake pads, or dodgy tyres, leaking shocks etc) and handbrake adjusted as requested. Saw the car in the car park and it looked like it did when I bought it! Full valet inside and out including dressed tyres. Also received a Bradford Audi insulated travel mug!
- Where you had the service? (optional) - Bradford Audi, Kings Road, Bradford
- Anything else that is relevant - such as vehicle mileage at time of service... see above
I mentioned I requested an A3. When I turned up I was informed the A3s were both out due to delays in sorting out other customers cars. I was a bit miffed, but I was given a TT (225bhp) for the day and an assurance that if I ever wanted to test drive the A3 just to give them a call and they will sort it out. The TT was very quick, but the radio was rubbish - Audi Chorus with Bose sepakers, but only two of them!! I was also surprised at the engine noise when on the motorway - in 6th the car was doing over 3,000 revs at 80mph. Averaged 33 mpg over the 110 miles I did.
So if you want to save some money get yourself to Bradford Audi and spend the day cruising round the Yorkshire Dales.
So thanks to Chris, Amanda and Glen the technician for providing an excellent service all round.

Just taken mine to Guildford Audi for first service. Tdi Sport '52 reg at 22k. Was Quoted £290 for service and £88.10 for brake fluid change, total of £378.10. When I picked it up came to £353.36 total.
Only booked it in middle of last week and got a courtesy car no problem, it was dirty inside and out but didn't really bother me.
All round very efficient service, in and out no fluffing around, which I really hate - I know we all love being made to feel "special" but I hate being patronised!
Took it in at 10am and was called at 3.45pm to say it was ready. Well done Guildford!!

Just taken mine to Alexander Audi in Huddersfield for its first AVS at 31,075 miles, quoted circa £255 and cost £265 but that included a new front number plate, old one was delaminating due to over exuberant power washing. Also there was a Castrol pack in the car with a litre of oil, gloves and wipes to refill the boot pack, saves a trip to Halfords. Had a 97 mile old A3 2.0 TDI for the day, nice power, but thought the interior was poor... I still prefer the A2.

Mines in for its first service + MOT in a few weeks. I was quoted 'it will not be more than £340 for the service, and £35 for the MOT, however usually it is less' - which basically means its going to cost me £375. On first hearing that I thought 'ouch!', however £375 for three years is pretty damn good.

If you are supposed to service at 24 months how come the variable service indicator allows you to go for 36 months? When I bought my car I was told by the dealer it had 3yr service gaps in normal driving. At year 3 service cost approx £250 (+ free MOT) from memory - and get this they tested the brake fluid and it was still okay! I'll let you know how much the next one is in 2 years time.
